Work Location: Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and North Dakota
Travel Requirement: At least 10% of the time by company vehicle. All work related travel expenses are paid for by the company.
Position: Project Manager
Description: The Project Manager is responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of the entire project. Roles and duties will vary depending on the size and complexity of the project but overall, the Project Manager will be responsible for the project's performance regarding safety, schedule, quality, reputation and cost.
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects of a construction project.
• Project coordination with subcontractors, material suppliers, general contractors, and other trades. Including creating purchase orders and overall procurement for projects.
• Maintain cost and contract control by managing the job cost and change orders, understanding contract language and risk, preparing pay applications, processing budget adjustments, collaborating with the project team on scheduling and understanding insurance and bonding requirements.
• Perform weekly project staff, subcontractor and/or owner meetings to review pertinent information.
• Maintaining project records, documentation, and correspondence.
• Lead and develop project staff with acquisition, training, personal development and promoting accountability with all team members.
• Collaborate with estimating and marketing departments during the preconstruction and pursuit phase of projects.
• Ensure that safety and quality control are incorporated into job planning and execution.
• Capture work by participating in proposals, project interviews, networking and business development outreach.
• Effective relationship management with all stakeholders: Owners, Design Teams, Subcontractors, & Benchmark employees.
• Go the extra mile to ensure the project is successful and with complete satisfaction from the client by double checking all critical work deliverables to minimize mistakes.
• Complete all tasks with pride of ownership.
• Never stop improving by initiating personal development strategies and suggestions for company-wide process improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivation, punctuality and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Experience and Skills Desired:
• Four-year degree from an accredited university or college in a related field of construction OR five plus years in the field work experience on commercial construction projects.
• Must require minimal supervision.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the public always.
• Be willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Confident in English and Spanish languages.
• Clean criminal background as we work on secure state and federal facilities. Also required to have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must be able to read and understand project documents such as plans, specifications, contracts, etc.
• Must be able to understand labor, material and subcontract costs and the ability to analyze reports to effectively manage projects.
• Prior experience in managing self-performance trade scopes is highly desirable.
